The Broadcom CacheVault Kit CVPM05 (05-50039-00) is a powerful cache data protection module for compatible Broadcom MegaRAID controllers. The module reliably protects cached write data from loss in the event of an unexpected power failure or server crash, thereby increasing data security in professional storage and server environments.

The CacheVault module uses a supercapacitor (SuperCap) that briefly supplies power to the RAID controller in the event of a power failure. The data located in the controller cache is automatically written to the integrated NAND flash memory of the compatible MegaRAID controller and remains securely stored there until the system is powered on again. A separate flash unit is not required for the supported MegaRAID series.

The CVPM05 is compatible with numerous Broadcom MegaRAID controllers from the 94xx, 95xx, and 96xx series, including, for example, 9460, 9480, 9560, 9580, 9660, and 9670.
