The Broadcom HBA 9500-8i Tri-Mode is a high-performance Host Bus Adapter (HBA) for professional server, storage, and data center environments. The storage controller connects via PCI Express 4.0 x8 and provides 8 internal drive connections, implemented via one SFF-8654 (SlimSAS x8). It supports 12 Gbit/s SAS, 6 Gbit/s SATA, and PCIe Gen4 NVMe (Tri-Mode), enabling the simultaneous operation of various drive types.
